Chiefs Rookie Eric Berry Nominated For NFL Rookie Of The Week Third Straight Week

Kansas City Chiefs S Eric Berry is doing something right. For the third consecutive week he was nominated for the NFL's rookie of the week award. Berry had two sacks and four tackles against the Oakland Raiders in Week 9. Those sacks were the first of his career.

Also nominated is Raiders WR Jacob Ford. He had 148 yards receiving -- including the 47-yard dagger in OT -- as well as a kick return TD.

The Chiefs have a nice history with the NFL rookie of the week award this year. WR Dexter McCluster won it in Week 1 and TE Tony Moeaki won it in Week 3. Berry has been nominated the last three weeks but has yet to win. Berry had interceptions each of the last two weeks which is likely why he was nominated then.

I think the play most Chiefs fans will remember from Berry last week is the block in the back penalty that nullified a Javier Arenas return TD. You could argue that cost the Chiefs game (as well as a dozen other things).
