The Kansas City Chiefs (predictably) were coy about Matt Cassel's status for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams but head coach Todd Haley said it's a day-to-day situation at this point. Cassel was at practice and did participate but he was listed as limited.
I'd say it's a good sign that Cassel was out there at all. That likely means that the Chiefs are preparing for the possibility that he'll play this weekend.
Cassel said he would like to play this weekend, assuming he can do everything he needs to physically, and early indications are that he may just get that chance.
There's still a lot of practice left in the week so there's still a ways to go but it's a good (early) sign that Cassel was on the field. The Chiefs will announce whether he's out, doubtful, questionable or probable on Friday. That's the next key day in determining his status.
