The Kansas City Chiefs have officially listed Matt Cassel as questionable for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. This is about what we expected the entire week. Listing him as questionable gives the Chiefs a couple more days to A.) confirm he'll be medically OK to play and B.) make the Rams prepare for two quarterbacks.
Cassel was limited all week during practice after undergoing an appendectomy last week. He hasn't taken part in all the stretches because of soreness but it appears he is indeed taking first team reps so we imagine he'll be playing.
Whether Cassel plays or not the Chiefs game plan likely doesn't change much. We expect a heavy dose of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones either way.
With the San Diego Chargers victory against the San Francisco 49ers, the Chiefs are now entering must-win territory. A loss would tie them up with the Chargers, who hold tiebreaker advantages right now.
