Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel is active today for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Cassel's status has been in question since undergoing an appendectomy which caused him to miss last week's blowout loss to the San Diego Chargers.
The Chiefs have not yet said whether Cassel will start, though. It's possible he's active but just as a backup quarterback in case something happens to Brodie Croyle. We'll have that question answered in a little over an hour when the game starts but, logically speaking, that doesn't make a ton of sense to me.
If Cassel is healthy enough to be a backup, then he's healthy enough to start, right?
Whether Cassel plays or not, we expect the Chiefs to once again be run-heavy. That's what they do best and Cassel's questionable status may make that even more of an emphasis.
At this point, no one seems to know if Cassel will be starting or not.
