The Kansas City Chiefs beat the St. Louis Rams on Sunday thanks in large part to the presence of Matt Cassel and Jamaal Charles. Cassel's returned less than two weeks after an appendectomy and several of the Chiefs players noted that some of his enthusiasm (read: doing the Tomahawk Chop) fired them up. Cassel ended the game with average stats -- 15-of-29 for 184 yards, one touchdown and one interception but I think he had a bigger impact than that.
Charles had 126 yards on 11 carries and had the play of the day when he scrambled 80 yards to bring the Chiefs inside the Rams five yard line and then having trouble getting up because of cramps. Charles was solid throughout the day but, once again, I think some would say he should get the ball more.
