World Cup 2022 Host To Qatar Is 'Biggest Indictment Possible That FIFA Is Not A Clean Organization'

The World Cup 2022 announcement went to Qatar as the host country for the 2022 tournament. The United States and Australia were two of the other countries that were believed to have a shot. Ultimately, though, the pick went with the odds-on-favorite, which was Qatar.

As we noted in our Where Is Qatar post, the small country is in the middle east, which Grant Wahl of SI.com thinks helped them get the bid.

Choosing Qatar and Russia is the biggest indictment possible that FIFA is not a clean organization. Petrodollars talk.

Wahl goes onto say that other choices would have made things look less dirty.

FYI, I'm not upset that USA lost. If Australia, Korea or Japan had won bid, FIFA would look cleaner and less influenced by oil money.
