NFL Playoffs Will Include Kansas City Chiefs As They Clinch AFC West

The Kansas City Chiefs are your AFC West champions. The Chiefs beat the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead during the early games on Sunday as they maintained their one-game lead on the San Diego Chargers.

The Chargers traveled to Cincinnati and lost to the Bengals, even though they were nine-point favorites. That gave the Chiefs a two-game lead over the Chargers with one game to go. The Chiefs clinched a playoff spot and the division. Arrowhead will be hosting a playoff game in two weeks.

The Chiefs also complete the biggest turnaround in franchise history going plus-six wins from 2009-2010. It's been an incredible run and it will continue past Jan. 2.

The Chiefs still have something to play for next week as they try to maintain a one-game lead on the Indianapolis Colts for the third seed in the playoffs. There are all sorts of NFL playoff scenarios but one realistic option has the New York Jets visiting Kansas City. Of all the playoff teams, I think that would be the best option for the Chiefs.
