Denver Broncos Vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Brandon Flowers Not Expected To Play

The Kansas City Chiefs faced the Denver Broncos three weeks ago without their starting and backup safety on the field as both S Kendrick Lewis and S Jon McGraw had gone down with injuries. The result wasn't pretty as Denver hopped out to a ridiculous lead putting up 35 points in the first half, including three first quarter passing touchdowns.

Unfortunately for KC, they could be in a similar situation on Sunday when the Broncos comes to Arrowhead.

Nick Wright of 610 Sports reports CB Brandon Flowers is not expected to play on Sunday. The Chiefs officially listed him as questionable with a hamstring injury. If he can't go, then his duties would fall to CB Jackie Bates. The problem? Bates has already been ruled out with a knee injury. So it looks like Flowers' duties will come down to CB Travis Daniels, according to Wright's report.

Other injury news include the following players listed as probable: S Kendrick Lewis, S Jon McGraw and G Ryan Lilja. It sounds like all of those guys will be playing. The Chiefs are 7-1 with Lewis and 0-3 without him while McGraw has missed the last three weeks with a head injury. Lilja was listed as questionable last week with a foot injury but did play the entire game so it sounds like he's improving.

There was no WR Dexter McCluster or LT Branden Albert on the injury report so we're expecting them to return. McCluster said earlier this week he's definitely playing.
