Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel Reportedly Misses Practice Before San Diego Chargers Game

Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel was nowhere to be seen during the media viewing portion of practice on Wednesday. Cassel has no known injuries and we're not sure why he wouldn't be at practice.

What makes this all the more interesting is that the Chiefs on Wednesday also signed QB Tyler Palko from the practice squad and added him to the active roster. The Chiefs have gone all year with just two quarterbacks so I was racking my brain to figure out why they would make this move now.

With the news that Cassel missed practice perhaps it's making more sense.

We have no information on Cassel, why he wasn't at practice, any sort of injury, or anything like that. But it is a curious situation when your starting QB missed practice five days before the biggest game of the year and another QB is signed.

Chiefs head coach Todd Haley has a press conference scheduled for sometime after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
