49ers Didn't Stand A Chance As Chiefs Dominate, 31-10

In 1997, the Kansas City Chiefs dominated the San Francisco 49ers. In 2006, it was 41-0.

In 2010?

31-10.

The Chiefs dominated the 49ers in just about every facet of the game. You can tell by the score the defense was dominant thanks to the help of a Brandon Flowers interception and three Tamba Hali sacks.

Matt Cassel threw three touchdowns including a tricky double-reverse 45-yard touchdown pass to Dwayne Bowe on a play that started with Thomas Jones in the wildcat.

The Chiefs running game dominated the 49ers as Jamaal Charles racked up 97 yards on 12 carries and Jones finished with 95 yards on 19 carries. Jones added a touchdown as well.

Dexter McCluster had his breakout game catching three balls for 69 yards including a 31-yard dive-over-the-goal-line catch and run touchdown.

The real MVP of the game though is the Chiefs defense which shut down the 49ers with no questions asked. It was a completely dominating performance with three sacks coming from Tamba Hali and a Brandon Flowers interception.

The defense is for real.
