49ers Decision To Call A Timeout With Seconds Remaining Results In Injury

The San Francisco 49ers on Sunday were thoroughly embarrassed by the Kansas City Chiefs to the tune of 31-10. With seconds remaining in the game, San Francisco threw a bomb getting inside the Chiefs 20-yard line.

There were just three seconds left on the game clock and media, coaches and players filed onto the field thinking the game was over.

↵

Instead, the referee announced that Mike Singletary, 49ers head coach, called a timeout with two seconds remaining on the clock. So they filed everyone back off of the field and lined up for the play.

↵

The 49ers hit Josh Morgan in the end zone making the score 31-9.

Ugh is the first word.

↵

Ouch is the second word.

↵

Maybe it was bad karma for calling a timeout with two seconds left in a game you were losing by four scores but WR Josh Morgan went down on the with what was called a knee strain.

↵

Maybe not the best decision.
