Rams Interested In Former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson...Wait, No They're Not

On Sunday ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that the St. Louis Rams were interested in former Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins RB Larry Johnson.

↵

The news made some sense because RB Steven Jackson had left the Rams game in the second quarter with an injury. On the other hand, the news didn't make any sense because LJ has consistently demonstrated that he is not a very good running back anymore.

↵

Apparently the Rams realized that -- or called Mort to explain that to him -- because hours after he originally reported it, Mortensen came back to say the Rams aren't as interested in LJ as first reported.

So LJ waits and realizes that once he left the Chiefs in 2009, his career as a meaningful running back was likely over.
