Fantasy Football Advice: Chiefs QB Matt Cassel

Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel

Passing: 42-of-77 (54.5 percent), 494 yards, 4 TDs, 3 INTs

Through three weeks: Cassel struggled significantly through the first two-and-a-half games on the Chiefs 2010 schedule. He wasn't consistently hitting receivers, passing for very many yards per attempt or creating any sort of rhythm on offense. He hit his stride in Week 3 against the 49ers with three touchdowns and 250 yards but still only hit on 16-of-27 passes. Cassel's overall play has been disappointing but that Week 3 game shows there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Advice: I wouldn't start Cassel in any situation at this point. Statistically, he appears more likely to rank near the bottom of the pile than the top. He needs to put up a couple of games in a row like he did on Sunday and then we can start to believe in him.
