Super Bowl XLV, Steelers Vs. Packers: Kansas City Connections

The 2011 Super Bowl schedule is set with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers. The Steelers defeated the New York Jets in the AFC Championship game and the Packers beat the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game.

There are a few Kansas City connections in the Super Bowl matchup.

The Packers have a pair of former Chiefs on their roster in TE Tom Crabtree and LB Erik Walden. Crabtree was originally signed to the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and Walden spent time on the Chiefs in 2008.  WR Jordy Nelson went to school at Kansas State.

The Packers coaching staff also has a number of Chiefs connections including head coach Mike McCarthy who was an assistant with the Chiefs. McCarthy also comes from Baker University in Kansas.

The Steelers roster also includes a pair of Chiefs in LB Keyaron Fox and LB Rocky Boiman. C Justin Hartwig went to Kansas and DL Ziggy Hood went to Missouri.
