Chiefs Vs. Chargers: Todd Haley Becoming Close With His Players

It's amazing how quickly things can change in just  few short weeks and a couple of wins for the Kansas City Chiefs. Many KC area radio hosts and beat-writers believed that Todd Haley was in his last few days as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, the Chiefs have won three in a row and that thought-process has become a distant memory.

The Chiefs are coming off a huge 28-0 victory against their hated rivals in the Oakland Raiders. It was the Chiefs first shutout of the Raiders in Oakland in the storied history between these two teams. Haley has this team focused and playing well at the right time and these players believe in Haley, even if some of the media doesn't. A few of the Chiefs players said as much after the victory in Oakland. via kansascity.com

"It’s like you’re out there with another player," fullback Le’Ron McClain said.

"We love him, man," cornerback Brandon Flowers said. "That’s like our brother."

"Todd is one of the guys," receiver Dwayne Bowe said. "There’s a method to his madness. If you see him rough and nasty like that, that’s how the game is going to be."

The Chiefs are coming together at the right time and a victory over the San Diego Chargers coming up on Monday Night Football would put the Chiefs in a tie for the division-lead. Nobody would have thought that the Chiefs would be playing for a division-lead against the Chargers after they started up the season with three consecutive losses. Nobody except for these players and Todd Haley, the only ones that matter.
