Chargers Injury Update: Shaun Phillips And Mike Tolbert Expected To Be Out For Monday Night Football

The San Diego Chargers have dealt with injury woes all season, and Monday Night Football versus the Kansas City Chiefs will be no exception. News out of San Diego is that Norv Turner's Chargers will be without the services of Pro Bowl outside linebacker Shaun Phillips due to a nagging foot injury. Turner had stated all week that he expected Phillips to play, but with no improvement from Phillips' foot the defense will have to pick up the slack.

Mike Tolbert, who had previously been dealing with concussion issues, now will be out for Monday as weil with a hamstring strain. The Chargers will elevate Curtis Brinkley to back-up Ryan Mathews.

Other injury notes:

4-time Pro Bowl guard Kris Dielman is out for Monday after suffering a scary concussion and seizure last week versus the New York Jets.

Tight end Antonio Gates took his usual day off on Thursday, and is expected to play on Monday.

Wide Receiver Malcom Floyd (hip) participated in a few individual drills but did not practice with the team on Thursday, he is listed as questionable.
