Kansas City Vs. San Diego: Chiefs Scare Up The First Points Of The Game, Lead 3-0

After Phillip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers opened with an absolutely dead three-and-out effort, Kansas City was able to thread a series of passes from Matt Cassel downfield to set up a Ryan Succop field goal and take a 3-0 lead. First round draft pick Jon Baldwin already has 26 yards on two catches, emerging slowly after a ghastly preseason thumb injury sustained during a fight with teammate Thomas Jones

Both teams traded turnovers on back-to-back plays. Safety Kendrick Lewis picked off an overthrown San Diego pass, a Rivers' performance early has been zombified - 0/3 passing with one interception. Yet the Chiefs' Dexter McCluster would immediately fumble away a monstrous change in momentum and  a chance to build on an early lead.
