The Oakland Raiders have emerged to take advantage of the mounting disaster in San Diego. The Chargers have now lost four straight, including a seven point loss to the Raiders at home on Thursday night. Oakland is 3-2 in their last five games, and 2-1 with Carson Palmer at quarterback.
Just as the top of the division standings have evened out, so too has the bottom: Left-for-dead Denver and Tim Tebow are as alive as any other team at 4-5, with a 17-10 win over the Chiefs Sunday. Following their comeback win at Oakland last week, the Broncos have now won back-to-back division games.
Of the entire division, the Raiders are poised to take a two-game lead by virtue of the easiest game next week. Oakland will travel to Minnesota, while San Diego will travel to Chicago, Kansas City will play at New England on Monday Night Football, and the Broncos will host the Jets on Thursday night.
