ESPN’s Suzy Kolber is reporting that New England Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch is having some hamstring issues and that he’s out laying down over on the sideline. That limits the weapons that Tom Brady is going to have until trainers have one of their best wideouts ready. Of course, it helps when a team has Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez at tight end. Still this will be something to watch between now and when he’s able to enter the game (if he is).
For the year, Branch has 37 catches for 484 yards on the year and four touchdowns. In his absence, Chad Ochocinco could get more prominent looks on offense. If not, then Julian Edelman might serve more double duty along with Wes Welker on the outside.
