Kansas City Vs. New England Score: Patriots Open Up 27-3 Lead Heading To The Fourth

Things went from bad to worse in the third quarter for the Kansas City Chiefs as the New England Patriots opened up a 27-3 lead.

On their first possession of the third quarter, Tom Brady capped off a 9 play, 85 yard drive with a 19 yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski who flipped into the end zone to make the score 17-3. After getting a defensive stop, Julian Edelman extended the lead himself with a nifty 72 yard punt return for a touchdown that gave the Patriots a 24-3 lead.

On the next Cheifs' possession Tyler Palko was intercepted for the second time tonight by Kyle Arrington. Brady and company then marched 50 yards and eventually settled for a 19 yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski to make the score 27-3.

Everything that went right for the Chiefs in the first half defensively disappeared in the third quarter and the Patriots had their way offensively. Brady is now 13-23 for 212 yards and two touchdowns. His Chiefs' counterpart Tyler Palko is 15-22 for 139 yards but has been intercepted twice. BenJarvus Green-Ellis has 73 yards rushing through three quarters for the Patriots.
