Broncos Exec John Elway Responds To Chester McGlockton's Death

As the news of the tragic passing of former Oakland Raiders great Chester McGlockton makes it way around the league, various players and teammates are making their responses through press quotes and even using social media to state their thoughts and express their sorrow. The four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle passed away last night at 42, and its’ clear the news is shocking to many.

McGlockton played nearly all of his years in the AFC West, so many of the respondents are from those teams. This includes Broncos great John Elway, who had to deal with McGlockton up the middle.

“Saddened by the passing of Chester McGlockton,” writes Elway via Twitter. “Great player that I had the pleasure of competing against for many years in the AFC West.”

McGlockton died of a heart attack and was presently serving as an assistant coach at Stanford. He ended his career with 481 tackles and 51 sacks.
