This week's game pitting the Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos is bound to be a good one. After all, the rivals are always geared up to play one another and the stakes are actually high in a division where somehow the top four teams are within one game of each other. With a win, the Broncos pull even with the Chiefs, while KC can gain some momentum and maintain a lead if they can come out with a victory. No matter what's at stake, however, It's Denver versus Kansas City, so it has to be good.
But for the fantasy football player, there's always more at stake as teams are now separating themselves for the playoff stretch just like the real thing. Mike Clay from Pro Football Focus thinks that this week's Chiefs-Broncos match-up creates a great opportunity for someone looking for quarterback help from an unexpected source: Tim Tebow.
Clay writes via Twitter, "Tim Tebow a Top 5 Fantasy QB this week? Looking like a strong play vs. Chiefs." Top five? Is that possible? It's hard to say. Two weeks in a row, the Chiefs won AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for Brandon Flowers and Derrick Johnson. Last week, the Chiefs defense made Reggie Bush look like a great free agent pick-up and Matt Moore resemble a Pro Bowler. Go figure.
It's hard to say what Tebow will do since it's hard to even figure out Tebow regardless of the defense in front of him. If he's shoring up his weaknesses and inconsistencies, he'll be a dangerous player. It's clear he can run the football well and yet last week he had 2 passing touchdowns. Like him or not, he has 6 touchdowns to 1 interceptions this year.
While it sounds weird that Tebow would be a top five quarterback in fantasy football, the reality is that it's very possible. If so, that makes a great sleeper for your team if you're in need of some late-season help.
