The results from a first round wide receiver can be rather unpredictable and even the Kansas City Chiefs own drafting history showcases such results. Sylvester Morris can tank at one choice and Dwayne Bowe can change the entire offense with another. So the Chiefs are definitely hoping for the best from Jonathan Baldwin in his development as their latest top wideout choice.
But some have seen enough in Baldwin in his limited action this year to like him for the long-term, even in fantasy football. Eric Karabell recently made his list of top sleepers for fantasy football and placed two Chiefs in his top 10. Alongside Jamaal Charles at the top spot, Karabell placed Baldwin at No. 9.
Karabell writes, “It’s too early to tell if he really can play, and he’d need a quarterback, but Dwayne Bowe can walk after the season. Baldwin is a real-life, first-round talent we cannot ignore. I found about 10 other young wide receivers with bright futures, ranging from Riley Cooper (DeSean Jackson is not coming back to Philly!) to Arrelious Benn in Tampa Bay and Titus Young, but I didn’t have enough room, and I’m going to side with running backs.”
