More 2012 NFL mock drafts are starting to surface and so far the projected picks for the Kansas City Chiefs have them taking an offensive lineman. CBS Sports' Rob Rang is no exception as he has the Chiefs selecting Stanford's David DeCastro with the No. 12 pick:
12. Kansas City Chiefs, David DeCastro, OG, Stanford Cardinal: Having drafted Logan Mankins in the first round while with the New England Patriots, Chiefs' general manager Scott Pioli knows the value of dominant guard play. DeCastro is generating comparisons to the great Steve Hutchinson among some scouts and would add to the physicality of an offensive line that needs it if a return to the strong running by Jamaal Charles a year ago is going to put Kansas City back into playoff contention. With four interior offensive linemen having been drafted in the top 21 picks over the past three years (Mike Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Maurkice Pouncey and Alex Mack), the long-held belief that teams can't use high picks on them is clearly fading.
