Week 17 NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs Take Hit In ESPN List

The Kansas City Chiefs are licking their wounds following a tough 16-13 overtime loss against the Oakland Raiders on Saturday. With the loss came the end of the playoff hopes for the 2011 Chiefs team.

The power rankings lists are trickling out for the final week of the regular season. Understandably, the Chiefs are dropping in various placements. Surprisingly, they only dropped one slot on the ESPN power rankings leading into Week 17. They fall to No. 23 overall, down from No. 22 last week. Here's what ESPN has to say:

Beating Green Bay was great, but the Chiefs needed to further validate themselves with a win over Oakland and failed.
