Jay Glazer is reporting that the injury Matt Forte suffered during yesterday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs is good news for the player and the team — going from a rumored torn ACL to a sprained MCL. Yet even then, with the season already in Week 13, it’s clear that Forte could still miss the rest of the regular season.
Glazer posted on Twitter, “Good news on Forte, they believe it’s a sprained MCL, not a torn ACL. MCL can go anywhere from 2-4 weeks, 6 if it heals slowly but NOT ACL.”
That’s good news for his rehab for sure, but with the way the Bears are playing lately, they’re losing major ground in the playoff race. The Wild Card is the Bears’ only hope but that’s the same line of thinking as the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Detroit Lions. The loss of Forte and Jay Cutler exposes the Bears offense in a major way and the offensive line is a sieve as it is. The Chiefs had 7 sacks yesterday and came away with a road win in a game that Chicago needed to put one in the win column.
