The
New York Jets have opened up as seven-point favorites over the
Kansas City Chiefs as the Jets (7-5) hope to continue their drive for an AFC playoff berth Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs (5-7) will make the trip to MetLife Stadium hoping to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
While the Jets are battling for one of the two wild-card spots in the AFC, they are technically out currently due to tie-breakers.
The Chiefs will still have Tyler Palko installed as the starter at quarterback after starter Matt Cassel was lost with a shoulder injury. Kansas City had signed veteran Kyle Orton after his release from the Denver Broncos, but in his first play against the Bears he disclocated a finger on his throwing hand.
Per Rex Ryan on making the playoffs:
"We're a team that just wants to win and get in the playoffs and see what happens. That's what we try to do. Our goal is intact, even though it looked really bad a few weeks ago."
"We don't have any wiggle room. We have to get it done and we understand that. We also have a great deal of confidence in ourselves and we're not worried. We're not focused on other teams in this league. We're just focused on getting better and finding ways to win."
The Chiefs and the Jets will face-off on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
