2011 NFL Mock Drafts Are All Over The Place With KC Chiefs

The various 2011 NFL mock drafts out there have yet to come to any sort of consensus on where the Kansas City Chiefs will go with the 21st pick. Considering the draft is still two months away, I suppose that makes sense. The Chiefs had a top five pick in each of the last three years so Chiefs fans are used to having an easier time figuring out what the pick will be.

One of the popular picks is offensive line, which I can't argue with. When in doubt, go with the beef, the big guys. That's what Brian Galliford of SB Nation thinks as well in his latest 2011 NFL mock draft:

The Chiefs need a complement to Tamba Hali at outside linebacker, but there isn't a good value pick here. They could also take a nose guard like Phil Taylor, but that seems too much a reach, as well. Sherrod would replace Ryan O'Callaghan at right tackle.

Mock drafts are generally hitting on these positions: offensive line, receiver, nose tackle, outside linebacker. I've seen Sherrod's name called a few times in mock drafts so it looks like he's going to be one of the candidates in April.

The Chiefs have gone defense in the first round in GM Scott Pioli's first two years in Kansas City. Will we see that again?
