Chan Gailey was with the Kansas City Chiefs when the team selected RB Jamaal Charles in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft. Gailey was, according to the KC Star's Adam Teicher, one of the driving forces behind selecting Charles.
Gailey spent a minutes talking about Charles vs. his own first round pick, C.J. Spiller.
''The big thing for (Charles) was ball security,'' Gailey said today at the NFL's scouting combine in Indianapolis. "Where he was his first year was very similar to where C.J. was this past year. The similarities are striking. He learned to hold on to the football, Jamaal did. If C.J. can, I think he'll have some big years.''
