2011 NFL Schedule Release Coming Tuesday

The NFL has confirmed that the 2011 regular season schedule will be released on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. (ET). NFL Network and ESPN will carry schedule specials while the entire thing will be released on NFL.com.

That means we can finally determine what kind of schedule the Chiefs have. We already know their 2011 opponents -- we just don't know when they'll play each team.

Here are their 2011 opponents:

Home opponents: San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Road opponents: San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts.

We can find out if the Chiefs have a lot of their tougher opponents early in the schedule or late in the schedule. There's a certain bit of strategy involved when you your schedule is stacked early or late. We shall find that out tomorrow.

We'll also find out if the Chiefs have any primetime games on the schedule. Last year, they had one -- Monday Night Football against the Chargers to open the season. My guess is that they'll have at least one primetime game this year whether that's Monday Night Football, Sunday Night Football or Thursday Night Football.

So we're about 24 hours from finding out the Chiefs 2011 schedule...assuming the lockout is lifted by then.
