Akeem Ayers, the athletic outside linebacker for the UCLA Bruins, was finally selected in the second round by the Tennessee Titans. This comes after weeks of speculation that Ayers might end up as the 21st overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round.
Other options are still there for the Chiefs, including popular candidate Brooks Reed of Arizona and Martez Wilson of Illinois. Then again, the Chiefs could easily go with an offensive lineman or defensive tackle, as most expected in the first round. Yet with Ayers gone, that’s one common link that’s no longer an option.
