Chiefs' Leonard Pope Saves Boy From Drowning

Leonard Pope is a hero.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was in America, GA over the weekend when a six-year old boy, Bryson, jumped into the water. His mother, Anne Moore, tells the Americus Times-Recorder that neither Bryson nor anyone else at the party could swim --except for Pope.

"All of a sudden, I saw Bryson going down in the water and I started screaming. Leonard was inside, and he came out of nowhere and dove into the water without any hesitation, cell phone in his pocket and all. He saved my son's life, and I am so thankful that he was there for me and my child."

Incredible. For Chiefs fans, this reminds many of us of the late, great Joe Delaney, who died while trying to save three kids, who couldn't swim, in a Louisana pond.

Fortunately, this story has a happy ending as Delaney lost his life 28 years ago.
