While the attention in the outset following any major disaster is enormous, everyone is also aware that any aid or clean-up efforts are long-term in nature. Thus it's nice to see the Kansas City Chiefs continuing to focus on the Joplin area throughout the off-season after early efforts brought several Chiefs players to help alongside other materials like bottled water.
According to the Chiefs official site, several front office personnel, staff, coaches and players will head to Joplin and Reading on June 23rd. Clark Hunt also made the following statement on the team's press release, "The Chiefs family is committed to assisting our friends and neighbors in Joplin as they continue on the long road to recovery. We look forward to joining together as an organization to aid in the relief efforts later this month and hopefully, lift the spirits of those who are hurting."
Anyone interested can still contribute to the Red Cross to aid Joplin area victims.
