NFL Mock Draft 2012: Devon Still Lands At No. 11 With Kansas City Chiefs

Don Banks over at Sports Illustrated has his pre-Super Bowl mock out for the 2012 NFL Draft, and the Chiefs finally find their long-term answer in the defensive interior if the cards fall the way he sees them. That’s because the best offensive tackles are gone which leaves the Chiefs with Devon Still of Penn State falling in their laps.

Banks writes, “Given the Chiefs’ need for an offensive tackle, they could pounce on Iowa’s Reiff if he falls past No. 9 Miami or opt for Stanford tackle Jonathan Martin. But Kansas City general manager Scott Pioli knows you can never have enough talented defensive linemen, and Still is a top-10-rated prospect who can provide a disruptive force in the middle of the Chiefs’ 3-4 front.”

That’s a good word from Banks considering the Chiefs have developmental players at the position alone. Kelly Gregg manned the middle last year but is a free agent, so it’s clear that some sort of addition will be made this off-season. Drafting a high round choice to help would make a lot of sense for Pioli in April’s draft.
