Phil Emery Has Been Named The Next General Manager Of The Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have finalized their search for their next general manager Saturday as they have officially named Phil Emery as the replacement for the previous title owner, Jerry Angelo.

Emery served as the Kansas City Chiefs director of college scouting for the last three years and Angelo was Emery’s boss in the past when Emery worked as a Bears area scout. Emery is the fifth general manager in Bears’ history. The sentiment around Arrowhead is that Emery will certainly be missed:

"He's one of the hardest workers I've ever been around," Chiefs general manger Scott Pioli said. "I can't overemphasize the hard working part. He's outstanding at his job. Detailed, meticulous, organized."

Emery was chosen over New England Patriots director of player personnel Jason Licht, who was the other finalist for the job.
