The Kansas City Chiefs Will Likely Find Their Next Director Of College Scouting From Within

The Kansas City Chiefs now have a vacancy to fill, as Phil Emery was recently hired by the Chicago Bears to be their next general manager. Emery was the director of college scouting for the Chiefs, and with Scott Pioli calling the shots in Arrowhead Stadium reports are out that the next hire could come from within.

Pioli has said it’s important to reward those who have worked and excelled within the building. A replacement isn’t likely until after the NFL Draft in April; the team’s grading and evaluation of the 2012 draft class has already been completed.

Emery had been interviewing for weeks and already had been tapped as a "next" candidate for a potential general manager's job so the thought process is that Pioli will already have someone in mind.
