First there was the East-West Shrine Game. Then came the Senior Bowl. Now a new game is being held in Little Rock with hopes of being the next prospect showcase for the 2012 NFL Draft and beyond. Introducing the Players All Star Classic, to be played this Saturday, February 4.
The game will be very similar in set-up to the aforementioned. Players are already being weighed in and draft analysts and scouts are on hand. Here's the full details from the release on this new game:
The Players All-Star Classic a new college football all-star game will be played at War Memorial Stadium at 4pm eastern, 3pm central on February 4th, 2012. The roster will split in a North-South format and be made up of a collection of talented players from all levels of college football who are rated as prospects for the 2012 NFL Draft. Prospects from the roster of a similar game played last year currently boasts over 60 NFL players; the game has agreed to a multi-year deal with War Memorial Stadium.
Players All-Star Classic has already agreed to a television deal which will be announced next week. The game has also partnered with 103.7 The Buzz, the Sports radio leader in Little Rock. The Hilton Little Rock will be the official hotel partner for players, coaches, staff, NFL scouts and agents. This just won't be about the game as during the week there will be multiple events going on around Little Rock in conjunction with the All-Star game.
