NFL Power Rankings: The Chiefs are last

The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-5, and SB Nation's power rankings tried, to no avail, to find a team worse than them.

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Kansas City Chiefs are, for one week and according to at least two outlets' estimations, the worst team in the NFL.

After a 38-10 loss Sunday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Chiefs are now 32 out of 32 teams in this week's SB Nation power rankings.

SB Nation NFL editor Joel Thorman explained it as such:

32. Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 28, 1-5): The Chiefs get the honor this week as the NFL's worst team. Four of their five losses come by at least two touchdowns. So, yeah.

Fairly simple, really.

So is ESPN.com's explanation of also putting the Chiefs dead last in their Week 7 power rankings.

The wheels have come off, and it doesn't matter who the starting quarterback is.

CBSsports.com's power rankings saw the Chiefs a bit more optimistically, if you could call it optimism. CBSsports.com slotted Kansas City in at No. 30.

The Chiefs host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday before a two-game road trip that will take them to a Thursday night game at the San Diego Chargers and a Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10.
