Matt Cassel was knocked out of the Kansas City Chiefs' 9-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, sustaining a concussion during a collision. Backup quarterback Brady Quinn entered the game, something some fans at Arrowhead Stadium cheered. Cassel was 9-for-15 for 92 yards before leaving the game, and Quinn was 3-for-3 for 32 yards in his place. Quinn was asked about entering the game in those circumstances in the postgame press conference, with his comments provided by the team.

Quinn was asked about entering the game cold:

"It's just part of the job. Obviously its different conisdering you don't get to practice as much, your not physically prepared. I try to keep myself as prepared as possible and doing as much extra stuff as I can, whether it's at the facilty or at home to prepare myself for that moment."

He also talked about how to get the team moving on from a play that resulted in an injury:

"I think it would have been tougher had it not been during a series. It is understood by everyone that the series is still going on, we have to make a play and continue, get the drive going. I think if it was after - if it was a third down play where we had punted or something - I think then, people would have to talk over some things more, but you don't really have the opportunity to do that if it is during a drive."

He was asked about how the first few seconds of play feel after not being on the field for an extended period of time:

"You know where the last time I was one the field was? It was here, that's crazy. It felt great to be out there, was comfortable being at home, being on the field, but right now I'm just here to support my teammates. Matt (Cassel) is our starter, and I just prepare every week like I am a starter and I prepare myself for that moment."

Asked if he was told to warm up prior to Cassel's injury, Quinn was insistent that Cassel is the starting quarterback:

"No, it's not like that. Matt (Cassel) is our starter. We, obviously everyone is behind him, give him confidence and everything else to prepare him. We hope he is OK with everything that happened and, like I said, that's a role. That was one of the roles I came here to fill."

The Chiefs face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.
