After three quarters of the NFL Thursday night matchup, the San Diego Chargers lead the Kansas City Chiefs 10-6. The Chiefs had the best of the third quarter action. After a three-and-out series on the first possession of the second half, the Chiefs recovered a muffed punt deep in Chargers territory. However, the Kansas City offense managed only three yards, and kicker Ryan Succop missed a 39-yard field goal attempt.
San Diego ran a short series that crossed midfield before punting the ball back to Kansas City. The Chiefs then executed a 10-play, 66-yard series that ended in a Succop 41-yard field goal. San Diego had driven the ball to the Chiefs' 38 as the quarter came to an end.
Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe now has seven receptions on the night, recording 74 receiving yards. Jamaal Charles has added 38 rushing yards on 11 attempts. San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers remains nearly perfect, now 17/19 passing on the evening.
