Ben Roethlisberger injury: Byron Leftwich in for Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been forced to turn to their back-up quarterback Byron Leftwich against the Kansas City Chiefs as they hope for a win in what should have been the easiest game for the team thus far in 2012. The Chiefs and Steelers are currently tied in the third quarter, and the teams have been tough along the lines which means it will likely come down to the running games. That's a good thing for Leftwich.

Roethlisberger went to the locker room after being hit by Chiefs linebackers Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. He might return to the game but for now Leftwich is in the game and Todd Haley now must adjust his game plan accordingly. Given Leftwich's lack of recent experience -- he only had 7 passing attempts last season -- it will be interesting to see whether he's rusty coming into a close game in the rain.

The Chiefs defense has a real chance to show something here in a season where any good news would be welcome.
