NFL mock draft 2013: Geno Smith remains Chiefs choice at CBS Sports

CBS' latest NFL mock draft features two experts picking Geno Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs.

If there's one thing for sure about the Kansas City Chiefs, it is that they need to get a quarterback at some point before the 2013 season. Kansas City has worked through a revolving door of Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn all year, and Ricky Stanzi has come nowhere near cracking through to the starting job in the long-term.

Given that, it's no surprise that a popular mock draft choice for the Chiefs with their likely No. 1 overall selection is a quarterback. Despite the fact that this year's crop is considered a 'weak' quarterbacking class, the Chiefs may need to take a gamble on their future franchise man.

In CBS' latest 2013 NFL Mock Draft, they go with a popular option once again: West Virginia's Geno Smith. Both CBS experts, Rob Rang and Dane Brugler, have the Chiefs going for Smith with the No. 1 selection.

Smith was one of the best quarterbacks in the country for most of the college football season, throwing for 4,004 yards and 40 touchdowns in 2012. His Mountaineers will play one more game before the season ends, facing off against Syracuse in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 29.
