Safety Kyle McCarthy Reportedly Signs With Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have apparently signed a new player for their depth at secondary with the player himself reporting the news. Via Twitter, safety Kyle McCarthy wrote, "I am excited to announce that I have agreed to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. I can't wait to get started!"

McCarthy has been with the Denver Broncos over the last two seasons after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He also addressed leaving Denver via Twitter: "The last two years in Denver have been amazing. I want to thank everyone who has supported me and wish you all nothing but the best!"

The former Notre Dame product was a special teams star in college, although he did set a single season record for most tackles by a defensive back for the Fighting Irish with 110. That total led the team in his senior season in 2008. However, if he's going to stick in KC, it will likely be the special teams route.
