Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Verran Tucker has signed on with the AFL's Spokane Shock. Tucker brings 19 games of NFL experience to the Shock which is a franchise best for the club.
During the 2010 season, Tucker caught six passes for 114 yards in 11 games with the Chiefs and was also a contributor on special teams recording 14 tackles.
As an Arena League player, Spokane general manager Ryan Rigmaiden sees Tucker as a player with "big upside" given his NFL experience.
"Verran has a big upside, especially with this NFL-experience," General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden explained. "He has great hands and runs very efficient routes. He is a great addition to any roster, we are just happy to have him here in Spokane."
Tucker also had a stint with the Dallas Cowboys before being released and picked up by the Chiefs. During college he was a solid wide receiver option at Cal where he totaled 50 receptions, 815 yards and four touchdowns in 23 games.
