Kansas City Chiefs runningback Jackie Battle recently stated on a Sirius/XM NFL radio show on Monday that he will be testing the free agency waters when the market opens in a few weeks. Battle has spent 5 seasons in the Chiefs organization, but with Jamaal Charles returning and the potential for Kansas City to draft another ball carrier, Battle will try to get the biggest pay day in his career.
"[The Chiefs] said they wanted me back before we left but I was gonna just see what my options were before I made that decision," Battle told Andrew Bogusch and Pat Kirwan on SiriusXM NFL Radio Monday afternoon. "But they said they wanted me back before the season ended."
This will be Battle's best chance to test the market and achieve his biggest payday in his entire career. Battle finished his 2011 campaign with 597 yards rushing with 4 total touchdowns.
