After 17 years of working in the Kansas City Chiefs public relations department, Pete Moris is leaving the professional ranks entirely for the chance to to work with the Oklahoma Sooners athletic department. His official title will be assistant athletics director/communications and it will be his second stint in college athletics after previously working at the University of Florida many years ago. From the official press release:
"With nearly 20 years in the National Football League, Pete Moris has experienced the evolution of the ever-changing role of the media and public relations," Castiglione said. "While that experience is important, it was his unique skill set, work ethic, core values and ability to think strategically which made him the right fit for us.
"During our search we sought input from an array of sports leaders like general managers, head coaches, public relations directors and many members of the news media to identify the exceptional candidates. Pete Moris' name was mentioned over and over as one of the brightest minds in the business as well as someone who interacts well a variety of stakeholders. We're excited to add his unique perspective to our communications efforts."
