Peyton Manning Rumors: Chiefs Scott Pioli Refuses To Comment On Colts Quarterback

The Kansas City Chiefs are well aware of the consequences that come with tampering in the NFL, as they held the Detroit Lions to the fire in their own tampering case allegedly with Jarrad Page that earned the team a swap of fifth round choices as well as a seventh. Even though the Chiefs have been rumored to be checking in on Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, Chiefs GM Scott Pioli knows enough to avoid commenting on that situation in any way.

“There are rules in place and I’d never talk about a player on another team or even a player that’s projected to become a free agent that’s on another team,” Pioli said from the NFL Combine. “There are rules that prevent me from talking about those things, so I won’t comment on that now.”

Manning is expected to be released at some point in the next two weeks as Jim Irsay and the Colts brass figure out how they want to handle things. The Chiefs are among several teams reportedly interested if Manning hits the free agent market. Others include the Dolphins, Redskins, Cardinals and Seahawks.
