Chiefs Free Agency 2012: Could Chad Henne Be Kansas City's Next Quarterback?

The Kansas City Chiefs have been pretty consistent when it comes to their intentions on the quarterback position this offseason. Matt Cassel will have some competition as the Chiefs No. 1 signal caller, and while certain names like Kyle Orton and Jason Campbell have created a mild buzz, another name has been rumored to be thrown into the mix.

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that Henne is drawing the strongest consideration of any of the available quarterback options so far this offseason not named Peyton Manning. Quarterbacks like Orton, Campbell, David Garrard, and Vince Young are also in the so-called "second-tier" of available QB's.

Marvez goes on to mention that while the Jets are considered a "strong contender" to land Henne, other teams like the Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos could all inquire about the services of the former Michigan quarterback.
