Players All Star Classic 2012: Missouri's Jacquies Smith Turns Heads, Speaks With Cleveland Browns Scout

Two Missouri players are getting their chance to turn heads before the 2012 NFL Draft with this week’s Players All Star Classic in Arkansas and Jacquies Smith is taking full advantage. The Missouri defensive lineman is earning solid looks from scouts during this week’s practice for the South roster and Optimum Scouting’s Alex Brown says he was even spotted talking to one NFL team in particular.

Brown writes, “Jacqiues Smith from Missouri rushed the quarterback very well today, notching one sack and more than a few hurries on my count. Generates a lot of power from his upper half and locks out exceptionally well to create separation from the blocker. I spotted a Cleveland Browns scout speak at length with Smith after practice was over.”

Smith was named All Big 12 second team this season and formed a formidable front with Dominique Hamilton as well. Smith should be taken sometime in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft.
