Dwayne Bowe Set To Make $9.515 Million Via Franchise Tag From Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs made their decision on who to keep recently this NFL offseason when they had to choose between Brandon Carr at cornerback or Dwayne Bowe at wide receiver with the franchise tag. Since the team could not agree to a long term deal before the franchise tag deadline, the Chiefs went with Bowe as their selection, allowing Carr the chance to explore free agency in just a few days. Now that the numbers have been released, Dwayne Bowe can finally know exactly what he will be making next season.

Jason La Canfora is reporting
that wide receivers who were franchised this season will make $9.515 million. That number is around the projections that most believed would be between $9.4 and 9.6 million. Carr would have been over $10.2 million if he would have been the Chiefs choice.

The Chiefs already signed Stanford Routt to a contract, which enabled the team more flexibility when considering Carr. However, the team has made public overtures that they still want the Grand Valley State product back next season.
